Open Champion Darren Clarke – seen here getting in some early morning putting practice – has enjoyed a memorable year and he and 56 of the best of The European Tour will end the season in style today when The Race to Dubai and the Dubai World Championship reach a dramatic conclusion.
Spain’s Alvaro Quiros goes into the final round leading by two shots on fourteen under from veteran Scot Paul Lawrie, while Louis Oosthuizen of South Africa shadows in third just one shot back.
However, it is the man in fourth place, World Number One Luke Donald, who is set to secure golfing immortality by winning The Race to Dubai and becoming the first man in history to win both the US and European Money Lists in the same season.
Play got underway at 7.24am and will see the field go out in two balls until the final pairing of Quiros and Lawrie take to the Earth course at 12.05pm
