The Physio Unit, which is a joint initiative between The European Tour and Leisurecorp as part of their five-year partnership, underwent the substantial overhaul during the winter months and offers the newest and most innovative technology to assist the players’ physical and mental wellbeing during the remainder of the season.

The Unit, which carried out more than 8,000 treatments last year and has become one of the most popular features on Tour for today’s fitness-conscious professional golfers, is now back “on the road” at six consecutive events – The European Open, The Celtic Manor Wales Open, the Austrian Golf Open, the BMW International Open, the Open de France ALSTOM and The Barclays Scottish Open – in the lead-up to The 138th Open Championship at Turnberry in Ayrshire, where it will be at the disposal of everyone in the field at the world’s oldest Major Championship.

The restyled Physio Unit has undergone significant change both internally and externally.  Internal changes and additions include a Kinesis free motion gym machine, a new audio video system, the highest quality treatment beds and electrotherapy equipment, a new portable ultrasound scanner and players will be treated using ionised support bandages and IoniX base layer whilst getting fuel for the course from Power Bar. Externally, the Tour, together with Leisurecorp, have created a vibrant modern look and feel which includes new exterior branding to promote The Race to Dubai.
