Kaymer brought down to Earth

Martin Kaymer was brought down to earth with a bump this afternoon, as a double-bogey 5 on the 17th seemed to bring his Race to Dubai hopes to an end.
The German, who started the Dubai World Championship presented by: DP World in third place in The Race to Dubai rankings, carded a 72 today to finish at two under, more than 10 shots off the lead as he came off the course.
“I believe that’s it (for The Race to Dubai),” he said, on finishing. “I will try to play a little bit more aggressive tomorrow to see if I can get in the top 10 tomorrow, depending how the other guys will play.
“But obviously Lee Westwood and Rory McIlroy are playing solid and very consistent. So I think that, yeah, it’s pretty over for me.”
