Martin Kaymer and Ross Fisher, lying third and fourth respectively in The Race to Dubai at the start of this week, are both looking forward to next year’s competition.

The pair finished at two-under and one-over respectively in the Dubai World Championship presented by: DP World.

Kaymer finished with a par 72, following rounds of 71, 71 and 72 earlier and admitted he had found it tough to get going.

He said:

“I was coming here to Dubai with a lot of hopes and it didn’t really go my way this week.  I played all round around par, 71, 72, which is not enough to win The Race to Dubai.

“But at the end of the day, I had a very good season, finished third in The Race to Dubai and I can see myself improving every year.  So I’m pretty happy.”

Fisher’s 73 today meant he finished one-over, after shooting 73, 71 and 70 over the first three days.  He was also disappointed this week but pleased with his performance over the season.

He said:

“When I sat down and put my goals down for this year, I wanted to improve as a year, finish higher up on The Race to Dubai, win again, and obviously progress in the World Rankings.  And to do all four of those, it’s obviously been a successful year.  I would say it’s probably surpassed my expectations.”
