Day one sees ‘Village’ come alive

There was just as much action off the course as on it today at the Dubai World Championship as thousands of spectators enjoyed the ‘Championship Village’.
Golf fans young and old soaked up all the Village has to offer with its range of activities bringing plenty of fun entertainment away from the course.
Visitors put their golf skills to the test with a state-of-the-art ‘Full Swing’ simulator that offers the opportunity to play the 17th hole of the Earth course. And for those who found the simulator too challenging without a few tips took up the opportunity to enjoy a free ten minute lesson with professional coaches from the Emirates Golf Foundation (EGF).
The Kids Zone also proved hugely popular and offered a variety of activities for youngsters including the opportunity to experience the sport for the first time through the junior golf game ‘Starting New at Golf’ (SNAG).
Less than a stone’s throw from the numerous food and beverage outlets, exercise instructors from Fitness First were on-hand to give free fitness tests and training tips, while the world’s leading trick-shot performer performed at the driving range.
The entertainment continued into the evening with a live performances from some of the region’s best musical talents.
The Championship Village is open daily from 10:00am – 9:00pm and open to Dubai World Championship ticket-holders only. Fans can pre-register for free tickets at www.dubaiworldchampionship.com.
