Englishman Graeme Storm put his second round 66 at the Dubai World Championship down to a good night’s sleep.
Finishing the day six under and on Par, Storm explained the dramatic turn-around from day one where he shot an opening round of 78:
“I got some sleep,” he said. “I didn’t get much sleep the first night before the first round. I struggled a little bit and I was waiting to for my wife to arrive.
“But that wasn’t the reason why I played bad yesterday. I had two bad holes. I had a quadruple and a double, and I had two birdies and two bogeys. I didn’t play overly bad yesterday and I did a lot of work with my coach. I also went out and relaxed last night and enjoyed it and had a good playing partner today which is nice.”
Storm added that he learnt a lot from the opening day and used his knowledge of the Earth course to his advantage today.
“Yesterday the greens caught me out straightaway, so I struggled to hole putts,” Storm said. “The greens were very quick and again they were even quicker today. So fair play to them. They are rolling very true and they roll very good. The golf course is in great condition.”
